A Product I Regret Buying: Benefit Lemon Aid

Hi guys!

I've been meaning to film a Products I Regret Buying video for awhile now, but the products seem to all be scattered between home and my dorm, so it would be hard to film right now. Plus, I have these close-up pictures burning a hole in my pocket, so I thought I would go on a little rant about a product I was not happy at all with, in the hopes that no one else will have to waste their time or money on it.

This product claims to be a "color correcting eyelid primer," and it's yellow tinted to get rid of redness and veins on your eyelids (which I found myself suffering from a lot when I bought it in May), while mattifying your eyelids and making your eyeshadow last longer without creasing. It retails for about $20 at Sephora, Ulta, and anywhere else where benefit makeup is sold.

"Wake up your eyelids with the warm yellow correcting cream. It helps to hide redness & discoloration on your eyelids. In a snap, eyes look refreshed, frisky and ready for fun. TO USE: Pat on eyelids with your fingertip & blend. Wear alone or under makeup."

The packaging and writing on the box was so cute and cheery- yellow and black color scheme, and cute sayings like "Turn your frown upside down!" on the inner flap of the box. The actual container was very sturdy and felt like high-quality, velvety plastic, and was very durable and felt like you could travel with it and never have a problem with it breaking. That, and the fact that as soon as you put this primer on your eyelids and inner corners, it got rid of the spider veins and was very matte and brightened up your entire face (it didn't have the same effect under the eyes though) were the only pros of this product. I loved it the first few times I used it.

After I wore it for a few hours, though, I realized that it didn't do anything else that I expected from a primer. When I wore it by itself just for the brightening benefits (it was almost like a cream shadow), it creased within an hour or two. When I wore it with shadows, it creased within two or three hours. It didn't keep shadows in place, and when I applied it to my under eyes, it was super dry and patchy, and didn't blend with my skin tone at all. It just looked awkward and like something I wanted to wash off immediately, but alas, I couldn't, because by the time I noticed I was stranded in public.

The texture was pasty and not as thick as Erase Paste, but definitely up there. I ended up returning this to Sephora, and swapped it out for another eye primer, which also didn't work, which I finally swapped out yet again for Eden by Urban Decay, which does exactly what I wanted this to do, but without the awkward completely yellow color (not just yellow tinted), the dryness, and the creasing. I can even use it for undereye circles as a concealer, and it looks great with my fair, cool-toned skin. That's definitely what I would suggest to you if you're in the market for a matte, or even just a color-correcting eyelid primer, that won't crease!

Did this help you? What's your favorite eye primer?

Video: Empties Part Two: Hair & Body Products!

This is part two of my empties! Part one was uploaded last week- the link is in the description box!

So What Wednesday!

This week, I'm saying So What to.....

~So what if my crappy dorm wifi wanted to take 600 minutes to upload my video yesterday? Yes, it's a slightly longer than normal video, but obviously something was up with the wifi. So I'm just re-uploading it today. Obvi I was slackin' yesterday cause there wasn't a Tuesday Tidbits blog yesterday either....I was just in a super grumpy and nappy mood yesterday, so sorrrry about that.

~So what if I only remembered to watch the last 10 minutes of Ravenswood last night, and by the time I turned it on I was getting so upset about the possible death of one of the characters that was happening that I accidentally punched the remote and changed the channel and couldn't see the end? Yes, I did have a temper tantrum about it at the time, but now that the episode's FINALLY up online (yes, I've been stalking the website ever since), I know what I'm doing this afternoon... (;

~So what if I currently look like a 40 year old English teacher? With my topknot, glasses, grandma sweater, scarf, and cup of tea, I look like I should be in a library reading Shakespeare. However, I'm sippin on my Gingerbread Sweet tea, and it's freaaaaking delish!!! So worth the grandma effect it's having on my overall failed fashion choices today.

~So what if the new hair serum I bought stained my favorite pair of Hollister jeans....I'll get over it eventually, right? Tide To Go will take it out, right?

~So what if I have no idea what I'm going to put in my What I'm Loving Wednesday post yet? I totally spaced on the fact that it was Wednesday until I saw someone else's.....I don't think I have that many new favorites from last week, oh nooo00o0o0o000!

~So what if the campus shuttle driver who brought me to one of my classes today had a head tattoo on his bald spot? He's kind of my hero for it. Lolz.

I think that's all....what are you saying So What to this week?!

Thanks for reading,

Video: October 2013 Favorites with my roommate Miranda!

Probably my latest upload ever, but here it is! Midnight uploads, weeee!

Monday (Late) Night Musings!

Tonight I'm musing about.....

~It is SO nice to be able to take a shower while standing, you have no idea. My foot healed SO much over the weekend. Prayers = finally answered.

~I'm also not dreading my class 1st thing tomorrow morning on the second floor of the only classroom building without an elevator because instead of having to hop up with my crutches and facing a near death experience with every step, I can actually normally-ish walk-ish up them!!! WOOOO

~I got all 4 of the Celestial Seasonings limited edition holiday teas in the mail today. I saw them in someone's Youtube video, but couldn't find them in stores anywhere. So, Amazon it was. Can't wait to test them out for you all! People keep asking me how I like them so I'll probs review them too (; So far I've just tried the Candy Cane Lane (I actually had 2 cups of it today, hehe)

~Tomorrow is my last Spanish class until Thanksgiving break! 2 of them got cancelled for my professor's trip to South Africa/America....I can't remember which. Yay yay YAY!

~Z is the cutest boyfriend in the entire world, and I was so incredibly lucky to be able to spend some time with him this weekend, if only for a few hours. It's so worth the drive, every time. I'll have to post some pictures of our date night in a post tomorrow, eek! I'm so excited! It's not every day that I have new pictures of my fabulous boyfriend to share! I also need to post a Man Crush Monday picture of him soon....only 43 minutes left of Monday remain!

~I'm. Exhausted. All last week I was too, even though I got more sleep than usual (?) Last night random stuff going on in my building (I'm looking at you, jerks who decided to slam their door 6 times in a row at 2 am!!!) kept waking me up, so I got a terrible night's sleep. I wanted to take a nap about three different times today, but as I've said before and will say again, napping in college is near impossible. At least for me. So just a few minutes more of studying for an espanol quiz tomorrow, and I'll be off to my cozy, cozy bed with way too many pillows in it at the moment <3

Thanks for reading! Hope your Monday was fabulous, but if it wasn't....at least it's OVER!

CVS Couponing Haul: November 2013 (Rimmel on Sale!)

I just went to CVS and scored some pretty good deals on girly things and snacks, so I thought I'd share the excitement!

Everything I got! You may have seen this picture on my Instagram, where you should follow me for mini hauls on the reg! @elleohelle86

Glaceau Vitamin Water (Energy) $1.77 each or 2 or more @ $1.50 each- I didn't even know these were on sale. Mostly I was just thirsty, and this is one of my favorite kinds of VM. I think this flavor has caffeine in it...I know one of them does and it would make sense if it was the energy one, right?

Special K Pastry Crisps in Chocolatey Delight $1.99 normally $4.39- I love these but have never seen this flavor before (which spoke to me because, duh, chocolate!), and at that price I couldn't walk by without them!

Cosmo with Miley Cyrus on the cover $3.99- I don't normally get this magazine, but Miley's outfit kind of caught my eye, and even though I told myself I'd never get this issue because the headlines kind of bothered me, I thought I'd try something new just to poke through when I'm bored (or over Thanksgiving break! Weeeee, I'm hoping for some actual free time coming up!)

Dr. Scholl's For Her Comfort Insoles $13.29- I probably spent a pathetic 15 minutes in the insoles aisle trying to pick out a pair. Since I'm limping around now instead of putting all my weight on my crutches (I sprained my foot and my ankle about a month ago and am in a slow recovery, if you're new to my blog), I thought I'd treat myself and make the pain every time I step a little less intense. My foot is so sore today from using it over the weekend and to get around today, so hopefully these put in my sneakers will make my feet happy and more comfy.

M & Ms White Chocolate Candy Corn $.59, saved $.60, 50% off Halloween candy & some merchandise- I'm not sure if these are M & Ms or actual candy corn, but the bag was cute and it was so inexpensive and it looked yummy, so I picked it up. Nothing like after-holiday deals! Especially on candy...muahaha. Obviously my sweet tooth was acting up at CVS today....whoops.

Rimmel London Glam Eye Precise Design Liquid Eyeliner (all Rimmel cosmetics 40% off, plus a $2 off any Rimmel cosmetics purchase coupon from the coupon machine, so I paid... $1.89!)- This little booger is the entire reason I went to CVS. My pen liquid liner by Flower ran out and dried up on me while I was getting ready today (it's been doing that the last few times I've used it too), which is disappointing because I only got it in July. My Maybelline one has lasted over a year and is still as juicy as the day I got it! Shame on you, Flower. This looked similar and was ridiculously cheap with all of my coupons, so I got it. Hopefully it works out!

Do you like blogpost hauls? Or should I do video ones on my beauty channel? Let me know what you think below! They're both fun for me!

Friday's Letters!

Dear Elle, I'm too upset to even think straight and be able to type right now. This is why....be right back, hating myself.... >:(

That's my memory card. That I use in my camera to make videos!!! It also has a lot of pictures on it...luckily it still registered with my laptop, even in this state, so I was able to transfer everything on it onto my laptop. I hope that was everything....I feel like there should have been more on here. BUT STILL- HOW DOES THIS EVEN HAPPEN? I've had my laptop in my backpack with the memory card in it before and it never...bent! It was in my laptop case in my backpack that I haven't thrown around all day...so what the heck happened?! They're not supposed to bend that way! Crying, crying, crying for days.

Dear Mayor Tom Ford, I'm sick and tired of hearing about you on CNN literally every single day. Get your shit together! Stop swearing at the paparazzi! Ashleigh Banfield wouldn't even play the footage of the rude things you said because she said they were so bad and vulgar....that's not cute, stop it. Think about how much you're embarrassing your wife, kay thanks?

Dear universe, The sinkhole I just heard about on the news sounds exactly like the beginning of the movie This Is The End. Terrible movie, but still....I'm gonna be on the lookout for spontaneous eruptions of fire and aliens and shit. Scary.

Dear Z, You're my best friend.

Dear foot, I'm so proud of you for being able to carry some of my weight this week. You've been doing really well- keep it up because I'm getting impatient and being unable to carry around my own coffee because I'm too busy crutching is really a terrible thing.

Dear girl who is always in the arts building lobby at the same times on Monday Wednesday Friday that I am, I feel like we will become best friends eventually. We're like twins right now with our matching cream-colored infinity scarves and our Macbooks on our laps. I would be more social with you, I bet, if there was some coffee in me and if this wasn't my favorite time of day to blog.

Dear Grav3yardGirl aka Bunny, Your videos can take me from a bottom of the barrel mood to a fantastic, laughing mood. Your videos have been my go-to for bursts of laugher or just a pick-me-up all week. Thank you for letting loose and just being yourself, and for giving me something to look forward to, and for being more hilarious than any other human being I know. Please come to the East Coast and do a meetup! I would literally die.

I think that's all! Check out the video I uploaded yesterday for Throwback Thursday! (Blogger never lets me embed videos from my second channel, obnoxious. Just click the purple sentence to get there!)

Thanks for reading and watching!

Thursday Thoughts!

I've had such good vibes goin' for the past few hours...this may just be the best Thursday Thoughts ever cause I have some great news!

~I just got out of a class that I thought was going to be super long and boring 25 minutes early, so I'm back with plenty of extra time to blog about the good news I'm brimming at the rim with!

~It's freaking gorgeous and sunny and beautiful outside, and is climbing slowly back up to the 50s for the weekend. HALLELUJAH! I kept doing all of these crutch-themed photos...I could like start an Instagram or Tumblr and call myself Crutch Girl and just have all of these mysterious photos with my crutches peeking out of them. Lol anyways...

~MOST IMPORTANTLY OF ALL, I GOT THE OKAY TO WALK AROUND IN PLACES OTHER THAN THE PT OFFICE WITHOUT MY AIRCAST/BOOT/BIONIC FOOT ON! I mean I could've taken it off whenever I wanted since it's just velcro, but I was told to bring my matching shoe to my appt today, and I left wearing it too! It hurt a little to bend my foot that way to put it in the shoe, but after that it hasn't bothered me. Their reasoning is that "I'll have more support in my sneaker than in my boot," which makes no sense to me because the boot was MADE for support, and has like a million layers of foam and air cushions in it. But either way, it was a super good day in that department.

My PT person put it on my backpack because I had no other way to carry it... do you like my new keychain?! I'm actually not too embarrassed of how dorky this looks, I'm more proud of being able to walk without it, and I kinda feel like SuperWoman about the whole thing. It's casual.

~One of my physical therapists is a reincarnated version of George Lopez, I swear. He looks so much like him, has his voice, AND HIS LAUGH! That's the scariest of all, the laugh. His sense of humor is slightly different though, thank goodness. Today one of the exercises they had me do was to start with my feet shoulder-width apart, then kick with my good foot (while standing on my bum foot, EEK!) and kick "George" in the back of the leg. They kept telling me to aim for his butt, but 1) that was a little...weird...for my taste and 2) I physically don't bend that way yet.

~Class registration went well, I only got locked out of one class, which is pretty good! I mean, this is supposed to only be the second day for freshmen to register, but a lot of freshman classes were practically full already, so there must be a loophole! Anyways, I had picked out a second choice for that class anyways, so on Mondays I'll have a whopping 4 classes (starting at 9am, ugh), but on Tuesdays I'll only have one, and it starts at 11 (so I can sleep in to get rid of the torturous memories of my jam-packed Mondays). Good thing my Monday blogpost is at night, cause I'm gonna be busy! The only thing that bummed me out about this lock out was that Miranda and I were gonna be in the same class together, along with possibly my other friend Emily. Boo :(

HEADLINE: Crutch Girl sighted with two matching, real shoes on, for the first time in almost a month.

~My registration time was during my PT appt., so I had to stop my gait-stepping to go log on and pick my classes. I did it in exactly 3 minutes, because I was so well-prepared and had all the course numbers, etc., written down (; George Lopez wanted to put me in the torture tub of Arctic death and destruction while I was registering, but I was like uhhh no way, my laptop is smooth as a stone and would probably have slid off my lap and into the whirlpool in .025 seconds had I attempted that. Clearly my coordination is crap....that's how I ended up in PT in the first place, right?

~I'm debating about whether to miss the first hour of a capella practice tonight to go to my third merit point event this week (I'm gonna have amazing housing next year, fingers crossed!)....there's this cool women empowerment thing going on, so of course Miranda and Emily want to go (I'm the one that told them it was going on, so you're welcome ladies). I haven't missed practice in awhile, so I feel like that could be excusable...possibly? What to do, what to do...

~I guess that's all for today. I'm just super excited about wearing matching shoes!!! And also about the fact that I can walk around with only one crutch now- I keep doing that to go to the bathroom, and it's so nice to be able to go to the bathroom without a wheelchair taking up the entire room! I'm shaky and look like an old person when I do it, but progress is progress, and walking was all the wanted all along.(:

Keep on the lookout for my Thirsty Thursday post later today- I'm reviewing a tea this week! How unusual, I know.

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I've been dying to write this post since I wrote the one from last week...the favorites have just been piling up! I love writing all of my posts, but this one is probably my most favorite weekly series because it's a lot of beauty favorites, so it's like a secret favorites video that people who just watch my videos and don't read my blog won't see! I'm here watching Ashleigh again (she was in my last week's Wednesday Favorites post, if you're confused), and Miranda's about to just brought me my cup of iced coffee and is joining me in the lounge (and is currently reading over my shoulder because she can't wait to see what my favorites are!) So let's get this show on the road!

I'm sorry that this is the most ratchet logo ever. Someone make me one!

~Tide To Go This stuff has saved my butt SO many times this week! Normally I just use a stain stick I have in my room that I also really like, but that stain stick doesn't dry and makes the spot blue until you wash it, so it's not like you can wear that article of clothing again before laundry day. I put my Tide pen in my backpack last week, since I'm CONSTANTLY getting stains...literally, every single day, I stain at least one thing that I'm wearing. It usually happens the second I pick up a coffee cup. But anyways, I've been using this pen, and it dries clear so you can keep on wearing whatever piece of clothing you wore, and it completely takes the stains out! You could probs go a really long time without having to wash something if you just used this pen every time you dropped something on it....jussayin.

~Aussie 3-Minute Miracle Deeep Conditioner I have been obsessed with hair masks and deep conditioners ever since my Paul Mitchell Moisture stuff ran out...I forget the exact name but it was in my August Favorites video!

Anyways, this is my "home deep conditioner"- when I go home for the weekends, this is the one that I use when I'm there so I don't have to drag the one I use on campus with me. This is actually my mom's that she got when her hair got really brittle a couple years ago, but she never really uses it so I thought I'd help her get rid of it (; it's probably one of the cheapest deep conditioners out there, and makes your hair soo0oo0oo0 soft! The second I wash it out I feel my hair get softer, and I don't even use a regular conditioner afterwards- my hair is de-tangled enough to be able to comb it out without even a leave in conditioner or anything! Amaaazzzing. (Miranda would like me to point out that the sub-name of this is Moist, a word that she hates with a passion. Please change this, Aussie.)

I don't own this picture.

~This isn't so much of a thing I love, but more of a thing that maaaybe won't suck- next semester. My class registration date is tomorrow (during my PT appointment, so I can picture it now- my feet will literally be in the torture tub of Arctic death, and I'm gonna have to jump out and go get my laptop to sign up for classes lololol. This should be interesting) Anyways, it doesn't look like I'm gonna be in a math or a science class! The req'd science class I'd have to take is already all filled up (which I don't understand, because they were like that yesterday yet freshman registration started today, but it's a freshman class? Wut? Who is stealing our classes?) and I should technically be all done with math classes since I took really high level, AP math classes in high school. The credits haven't transferred properly though, so I have some beef with the Registrar office that I haven't gotten the chance to take care of yet, so that will all have to happen next semester! Oh no, poor me....all liberal arts classes, what will I ever do?! (You could cut my sarcasm with a knife).

~My New L.L. Bean Jacket My mom bought it for me at a sale literally two weeks ago, which was perfect timing because ever since yesterday, it's been freezing here! It's supposed to be good for up to -20 degrees, which it hasn't been yet, but it's sure felt like it! I got a pretty plummy purple color, and it's lined with flannel on the inside. Unlike every other winter jacket I've owned in the past, it doesn't make me look like a huge puff ball, and actually has a little form to it at the waist! It's comfy and light and not too bulky- perfect.

~Throat Tea I'm doing a full review on this tomorrow for my Thirsty Thursday post (most likely), so I won't go into detail or even say the full name! But long story short, I keep waking up with a sore throat, so I'll have this tea in the late afternoon or night. It's delishhh and works semi-well. Mostly it just tastes good and the warmth is soothing to my throat.

~My Giveaway & also my followers It's kind of lame to me to post this as a favorite, but I just looked at my blog followers AND THERE ARE NOW 7! SEVEN!! I had 3 a week and a half ago....I'm guessing they're newbies who found this majestical blog of total seriousness because they have to follow it for my giveaway. BUT EITHER WAY, I'm really really glad you all are here and I'm so happy to have you! I hope you like my posts, and always feel free to request something if you'd like to see me do a post about it. Here's my giveaway, if you haven't entered yet- it's super easy and there are 2 winners!

~Colgate Optic White Enamel White Toothpaste

I picked this up on my trip to Target last weekend (which I will post sometime this week!) because my Aquafresh Whitening toothpaste (in the orange tube) worked okay but not to the level I'd like, and the taste kind of made me nauseous because I'm very picky with my mints. THIS ONE WORKS SO WELL! My teeth look whiter and more clear/less stained, if that makes sense- I feel like the entire tooth is one uniform shade, which wasn't exactly the case before. The mint taste is okayyy, it grew on me throughout the first few times I used it. The toothpaste has a weird warming sensation when you use it, which I can't tell if I like or not. But I really do love this stuff, and it was only around $3 and on an endstand in Target. It makes me look forward to brushing! Every time I have a meal, I'm tempted to go run to the bathroom and pull this stuff out. Plus it's in the kind of tube I like where the cap doesn't completely come off, so that's another plus!

That's all for now, folks! I'm uploading a video to my beauty channel right now- an 8 minute video shouldn't take 3+ hours to upload! The crappy dorm wifi is definitely not a favorite! I'll put it here when it's up!

Thanks for reading! What are you loving this Wednesday?

Target Haul: October 2013

You may have seen this pic on my Instagram @elleohelle86 or my Facebook page! MissGlamBam- formerly Elleoenigma
This haul is actually from the weekend before Halloween, so some items are H-ween-related, while most of them aren't! Sorry this is up late- I'll have a blog haul from this month up shortly as well! I love me some Tarjay (:
Aerial view of my haul!

Skull Mug- $1 First off was the dollar section- who can resist? It was all festive and I had a big blast wheeling myself around in my wheelchair through these aisles! I got this little skull cup/mug- I thought it was so cute, and I can never have enough things to drink out of! Idk if I'd brew coffee right into this since it's plastic, but it would definitely be a good glass to put juice in with some ice or something. They also had goblets identical to this, but my mug looked like it would hold more!

Mamba Fruit Chews, $? These were in the bargain section, but I'm not sure of the price. Probably only a dollar or two! I'd just seen a post on Instagram with a haul someone had done of a bunch of Asian candy, which this looked like it fell into the category of, so I had to pick these up because they were talking to my sweet tooth. Rare candy is a must for me!

AirHeads Xtremes Candy Belts, $? These were also in the bargain category, and like Mamba, I'm not sure of the price. I LOVE LOVE LOVE candy belts like this, and I found these over the summer and have since been obsessed and craving them. They went into the basket without a second thought.

Hello Panda Candy Crackers, $1? I'm pretty sure these were $1, since they were in the dollar section (although Target has been sneaky lately and putting things in there that are $3 or some weird number in between....humph!) These are so yummy, I remember my friends in middle school used to come back from visiting their home countries in Singapore or China, and would bring these back and I would fall in love with them instantly. Between the cute little panda faces and the fact that they melt in your mouth, I couldn't pass these up, especially being on an Asian/rare candy kick!

Frankenstein Sticky Notes, $1 These were definitely a dollar, which is pretty good for sticky notes these days! They are just starting to charge an arm and a leg for those suckers. Anyways, I am a sucker for cute sticky notes, and needed some normal square ones, because my current ones are round and don't stick to anything. Plus I loved his "Why did I get out of bed this morning" facial expression, because that's me everyday. Haha just kidding. Or am I?

Sterilite Medium-Sized Trash Can, $8 This is a terrible picture because the garbage can practically blends into the chair, but this sucker is the entire reason I wanted to go to Target! Actually, it was only half the reason, but they didn't have the other thing I wanted. Grrr! Anyways, I needed a large and second trash can, since my little zebra one (it's in my College Dorm Haul that you can watch here- )

doesn't fit much trash and I found myself needing to take it out twice a day! I currently use the smaller one for bottle recycling, and my new bigger trash can works much better for me (:

Coffee Cup Wall Decals, ~$14 These were probably the most expensive things I bought haha. They fit into my wall theme more than PERFECTLY, and looked really easy to apply! There's so many of them that I can arrange all the cute little cups however I'd like. Why can't I figure out how to get these pictures side by side!? Anyways, I was so super excited to find these! They're perfect for my room, and I've never seen them at Target before, which is saying something since I've practically memorized the wall decal section!

6-Pack of Vanilla Almond Luna Bars, ~$7 This is a brand new flavor! I'm utterly obsessed with Luna bars and have one for breakfast practically every single day while I'm in class, so these were a must! This flavor sounded delicious!

Peanut Honey Pretzel Luna Bar, ~$1.50 This was another new flavor that sounded wonderful! I decided to try just one of these instead of buying an entire box though, but I did want to try it so I picked up a single bar instead (:

Up & Up Adults' Gummy Calcium Dietary Supplement, $? I always take calcium gummies, and mine were out, so my mom insisted I get these to replace them. They're actually delicious and I like every flavor in this bottle, which is unusual because there's usually at least one flavor I can't stand and feed to Miranda in order to get rid of them. Hehe.

Revlon Ultimate Tweezers, ~$8 These were another thing I needed- I lost my favorite Revlon tweezers during move-in and haven't been able to find them since!!! Argh! I'm the kind of person who touches up their eyebrows practically every other day, this just would not do any longer, so I picked up some new ones, even though I had a pretty deep-rooted relationship with my long lost pair of tweezers. Also, I found out that tweezers are getting dang expensive these days- why are Tweezerman's $24?!!?!? I hate slanted tweezers and think they're impossible to use, so these are what I picked up!

Up & Up 100 Pack of Cotton Rounds, $2 My cotton rounds were all out, and I use them on the daily for stubborn eye makeup removal and for my cleanser, so I needed a new pack before I went crazy. These were a lot cheaper than the $4 ones I usually dread getting at CVS, and are a lot thicker too. Target is my new place to get cotton rounds! Take note, ladies.

St. Ives Blemish Control Green Tea Scrub (Full Size Tube), ~$5 This is my personal favorite product in this haul, and sorry that the picture is somewhat blurry! I'm not sure what happened there. I talk more about this in my October Favorites video, which should be up later this week, since I just exported it yesterday! Yay! This stuff really works, and previously I had only owned the sample size which is almost out, and it did such great things that I NEEDED the full size!

So that concludes my first ever blog haul! I do lots on my channel, so check out MissGlamBam.com if you're in need of more shoppaholic-ism. Do you like the idea of me doing blog hauls? Let me know because I have at least one more to share as of right now!

Tuesday Tidbits

Pretend I have a really cute Tuesday Tidbits button! If someone wants to make me one I will love you forever and possibly send you some beauty items....jussayin. Mini secret giveaway goin on right here!

Hey hey hey guys! I'm so peppy and happy today even BEFORE my coffee today, and here's why:

~My Public Safety driver today was the one who calls everyone "hun" and whose car smells like coffee. Seriously, it was like straight up Starbucks scent this morning, and I was in dire need (only just now am I getting my daily dose of coffee!) so I was almost tempted to reach over and pretend that "oh, I thought that was my cup! Whoops, sorry!" But I didn't. Round of applause for self control, please.

~It was a really positive day for everyone in physical therapy today- the other guy who injured his foot and had previously been wearing an AirCast like I am now finally took his boot off and is walking without it! You go boy! His bruises are every shade between black and purple, I swear. I didn't know there were that many different colors on that end of the color spectrum....

ANYWAYS!

Livin' up dat PT lyfe.

~I had to be put in the torture tub again today, but apparently it was only 45 degrees, which the guy who works the tub area says "is too warm." So of course he was taking shovels of ice and dumping them in the tub, but he didn't dump them on my foot again today, so that made me exponentially happy. It was bearable today & there were no cold-water anxiety attacks, thank goooodnezz. I was so proud of myself for putting up with it comfortably, unlike on Thursday.... Another impressive thing I did today is that I picked up a cup and a half of marbles with my toes, and it took me a lot less time than usual because my sausage toes have finally stopped swelling so much! This happened over the weekend and made me super happy. My foot looks normal when by itself, but then you put it next to my un-sprained foot and it's practically purple. Gross.

~Most importantly of all, on my journey to the torture ice tub of Arctic death, they got me to walk. On both my feet. At first I only had one crutch, and since I wasn't wearing a shoe on one foot, it kind of looked like I was going to face plant, so they gave me my second crutch. I wasn't even wearing my AirCast and I was PUTTING WEIGHT EQUALLY ON BOTH FEET and actually walking like a regular human being! It really was starting to feel like I wasn't going to be able to walk normally again, and today gave me hope. I'm really so excited about this- I can stand on both feet without too much pain now too!

~IT SNOWED TODAY! It was more like sleet and didn't stick to the ground, although my mom sent me pictures from back home and there was definitely an inch sticking to everything there. Here, however, it was just really wet rain that looked white while it was in mid-air. I was terrified with all of the wetness and my crutches on the rubber stairs in the art building and the perfectly polished and shiny lobby floor in the business building, since I've wiped out when it's rained in both of those locations before :( I've been good so far today, probably because I can walk when I crutch now, so I'm relying less on my crutches.

~My roommate from CA just checked the weather for back home and the low today is 54....which is the high for the next week here. It's currently 70-something there, as we were sitting in the snow this morning...why, East Coast, why?! She also just said to me, "Guess how many pairs of pants I'm wearing today!?!" I've taught her the rules of layering well. Good job, my young grass hopper.

~I've been testing so many new products lately...face products, a toothpaste I'm in love with....What I'm Loving Wednesday is going to be chock-full tomorrow! I'm super excited and should start gearing up now....at least with the picture-taking!

~I'm uploading my giveaway to my beauty channel as I type! I'll talk about it a bit more in a separate post when it's live! Let's just say that if you're following my blog, you're already one step ahead! (;

What are you tidbitting about this fine Tuesday?

Thanks for reading!

Monday Night Musings

AAAACKCKK! Sorry this is up so late guys - I almost completely forgot to do it, and then I started thinking about the little tidbits I wanted to put in tomorrow's post, and then I realized- I still have to blog them tonight!

Anyways, here are tonight's Monday Night Musings....

~I'm in such a mom/grandma mood today. All I want to do is clean and organize my room, and my body hurts. I'm so excited for the new year to begin that it's ridiculous- and I'm only excited because that means I get to finally start my new planner from Target that *isn't* 20 pounds and falling apart like my current one that I've had for way over a year now.

~Happy Veteran's Day! I really appreciate the work that you have done, if you've ever served, are currently serving, or know someone who falls into either of those categories and have had to wait for them to come home. It is really the bravest act I can think of, and it's crazy to think that thousands of people are doing it at any given time. I hope you got the day off, wherever you all are.

~My Varsity Voxbox program from Influenster is almost coming to an end! I did all, and I really mean all of my bonus and Brand Challenge tasks today that I didn't already have done- reviews, picture posts, you name it, I've done it for every single product I received. Here's the unboxing video that explains what I'm talking about, if you have no idea:

~I was really on a roll today- I edited a bunch of videos, uploaded this one:

and put up 3 blogpost/reviews besides this one. It would mean the world to me if you could read them and then follow my blog!
Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm Swatches
NYC Big Bold Plumping Gloss Review
Clearasil SuperFruit Wash Review

~I don't have much else to mumble about tonight....I'm so exhausted and have been craving a nap, so after I organize my little fold-up bathroom caddy into things I'm currently using and things I haven't used since the last time I used that caddy (the mom part of me is talking again), I might just treat myself to a good night's sleep. After I elevate and ice my foot first, of course!

~I'm actually super-duper looking forward to physical therapy tomorrow. I feel like I've been sliding backwards over the weekend, so I can't wait to make some more progress! Yes, I'm a grandma. I've accepted it. I now call Z "Old Man" so we have matching old-person names. Hehe.

What are you musing about this Monday night? ACK hopefully not all the snow we're supposed to have tomorrow! Yuck, kill me now!!!!

My new video is live on my beauty channel! Be sure to check it out and leave comments, or do it yourself because if you're reading this, you've been TAGGED!

Review: Clearasil Daily Clear Refreshing Superfruit Wash

Usually I wouldn't do so many reviews of products from my current Influenster box on one day, but I'm on a roll! One of my tasks for the program (I'm so close to qualifying for the next Voxbox!) is to write a review about this product on the Clearasil page, so I figured why not post it here as well? Here's the unboxing video:

I received three 3mL samples of this face wash in my Influenster Varsity Voxbox, along with 3 $1 off coupons for anything in the Daily Clear Refreshing Superfruit line (there are also exfoliating pads and a scrub), although I gave one sample and one coupon to my roommate, Miranda, to try.

There's really not enough product here for my skin to really react to it fully, so this is more of a first impressions post!

I just washed my face with this for the first time, and when I first opened the package, it smelled AMAZING! Since it's made with cranberries and raspberries, it smells like straight up cran-raz juice, if you've ever had it- it's one of my favorites! There was also a lot of product in this packet that squeezed out into my hand, and you really don't need that much to wash your face!

It definitely wiped out all of the oil that was on my face, yet when I was done washing, my face still had a sheen to it, but that's normal with any face wash I use. It doesn't mean there's oil, it just means it's clean. The lather wasn't too over the top sudsy, and did the job. The smell was amazing throughout the whole process, and now that my hands are all dried off, I can still smell it on me!

For the first 5 minutes after I washed my face, my skin wasn't dried out in the least bit and I wasn't running to my bottle of moisturizer like I usually have to do after I cleanse. However, after the 5 minutes, my skin is now stretching and dry and getting uncomfortable. I got a little on my mouth by accident, so now my lips are super dried out too! Wah :/ However, this happens with every face wash I try, so I'm not surprised.

My face overall just feels really clean and fresh, because of the lovely scent. The packaging for this line is pink, so of course I'm super happy about that (: My forehead does appear to be a little red with irritation after using this though. But other than that, it's something I would definitely want to try more of! If I had a 1 oz. sample it would be easier to judge whether the acne medication in it will actually help my skin over time. So far I like it! If anything changes after using my last sample packet, I'll update this post!

As always, thank you for reading! Check out the other two posts/reviews I've put up today!

Review: NYC Big Bold Plumping Lip Gloss!

Hi all!

I received this lip gloss in my Varsity Voxbox from Influenster, and being a lippie kind of girl, I was obviously most excited about this product (I have it in the shade Pleasantly Plump Pink, btw). If you want to watch the unboxing video, here ya go! (The story about this lip gloss is actually kind of funny, looking back on it....)

This box was great, so I don't know if I can say that it was my favorite item in the box, but it's definitely up there! Therefore, I thought I would do a little review for you guys! I wrote about it briefly in my What I'm Loving Wednesday post, so if you'd like a quicker review, go check that out!

First of all, let's talk packaging: the wand and tube are HUGE! Hence "Big Bold," I guess. There's definitely a lot of product on the wand when you take it out of the tube, so you'll never have to double dip- I usually only use half of what's on the wand, and sometimes I have to wipe it off on the tube because there's TOO much. If you put too much on, it stings your lips a whole lot, and just feels too thick. Other than that, I really like the big size of the packaging- it's easy to find in your purse!

Now let's talk price: according to my info card from Influenster, and the Walgreens website, this product is supposed to run for $3.99, but when I picked it up at CVS prior to receiving it in my box, I'm positive that I paid $4.99 for it, so let's just say it's a regional thing. NYC prices are always on the cheaper end, although for them, 5 bucks is a little high! Still, for a good plumping gloss that actually works and is a universally flattering color (these are a must, in my opinion), it's totally worth it and I don't mind forking that over.

Now let's talk texture and feel, which of course you can't judge without a swatch....

(I apologize for the terrible swatch by the way, I'd usually use my HD camera instead of my front-facing phone camera, but I didn't think of it).

Anyways, I really do like the feel of this product. It totally feels like Sephora quality, not a cheapest-of-the-cheap drugstore lip gloss! It does tingle a little when you first put it on and for maybe 5-10 minutes following, but then it kind of fades away, and it's not a painful tingle (like the Sally Hansen Lip Inflations....uck). It's in between being really thin (those glosses usually wear off really fast), and thick (where you feel like your lips are stuck together). It's a good, in-between consistency that makes you feel almost as if you're not wearing anything. Plus, it might be just me, but when I put this on I instantly feel like I have fresh breath! It's an almost-but-not-quite cinnamony taste, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

This gloss is really shiny, and in the shade I have, there was a fair amount of shimmer that adds to the plumping effect of the lip gloss. I don't know if the formula itself makes your lips grow, but the shimmer definitely makes them look bigger, so it is an effective plumper. I liked my color a lot (Pleasantly Plump Pink), because it was an almost-clear pink that added just the right amount of pinky glow to my face. If you have pale skin like me, with pinky undertones, I'm betting it would look great on you as well! (Probably other skin tones too, but I can't say for sure). It definitely makes me feel more confident the second I put it on (: and it could just be my new toothpaste, but I'm pretty sure this stuff makes my teeth look whiter! That's a huge plus for a serial coffee drinker like myself!

Overall, this lip gloss does what it says it does, and has a ridiculously large container that's so crazy, it's cute and lovable. As for plumping, it does work, just not to the degree that I'm spoiled with when I wear my holy grail Sexy Motherpucker lip gloss by Soap & Glory. I'm seriously in love with that stuff, so it's really not fair to other glosses to even compare. This gloss would be a good drugstore dupe if you're in the market for a plumping gloss that tingles and has beautiful shimmer, although it's not a perfect dupe. If price is your main concern, then this would be a perfect fit if you want shimmer, slight color (if you pick it up in this shade, although there are plenty of others), plumping, and don't mind a tingling sensation.

I do like this product, and I'll continue to use it somewhat religiously as I have been since I opened it up on Halloween. Let's just say that if this product were a student in school, it would be a B kind of student. It's the best of the drugstore plumping lip glosses that I've tried, but not better than a Sephora-grade plumper.

Do you have this product? If so, how do you like it? What shade do you have it in? (I feel like this in purple would be really fun!)

I just posted swatches and photos of the Revlon Matte Balms, so go check out that post too!

As always, thanks for reading!

Disclaimer: This product was sent to me free of charge from Influenster for review purposes. However, that does not influence or change my snarky and picky (as always) opinions on the product, although I am grateful to have the opportunity to review it!
