My Influenster Programs: Up-To-Date List

Hey guys!
It has occurred to me that I do a lot of Influenster programs, and every time I do a video or blogpost about a new one, I always have a million links of all my previous programs to go collect and post. Instead, I thought I would just post them all in chronological order, putting all the related videos and blogposts together for each program, and update it every time I'm in a new one (I'll put a "last updated" date at the bottom so you'll know how recent this was re-done).

I explain Influenster in a lot of my videos, but it's basically a company that sends out free boxes to people that are active on social media to test out and review- kind of like a rewarding subscription box that you don't have to pay for.

I've enjoyed every program I've been in, and I hope you enjoy testing out and reviewing all of the products in them with me! Let's start my journey~

1. Love Voxbox 2012
This one came out in March 2012 and was my first ever box. It took me so long to edit the unboxing video that I never uploaded it, but I might in the future. If I do, I'll update this and sneak it in here, because it was truly a great box and probably one of my favorites to date. However, I did do a review on one product that was in this box:

2. Summer Beauty Voxbox 2012
This one came out in July of 2012 I believe, and was another great box. I discovered my current favorite shampoo and conditioner from the brand Clear through this box, and purchase them to this day. I did edit this video, but for some reason never wanted to upload it either. I want to in the future, just so you guys can refer to it, plus unboxings are always fun, right? *I finally uploaded it as a Throwback Thursday! Here it is:

3. Beauty Blogger Voxbox
This box was sent out in fall of 2012 (I uploaded my video in October). There was a lot of competition for it, so I was super honored to get into this program! The products were truly great and very diverse. Watch my unboxing here:
Here are all of the reviews I did on the products in this box on my blog:
Kinky Moves
Bath & Body Works Candle
Goody Spin Pin
NYC Custom Eyes Eyeshadow Palette
Kiss Ever Pro Lashes

4. Palmolive Fresh Infusions
This was a non-beauty box, and here's my unboxing video:

And here's the review on the product that I did on my blog!

5. Aveeno Active Naturals
Back to doing beauty boxes! This one had just 1 product in it, and here's my review video!

And here's the follow up review I did on my blog!

6. Choose Sargento Cheese
I got chosen for this box right after I signed up for a food badge on the Influenster website- dang they are quick! I'm also a cheese-aholic, so I wouldn't mind doing another one of these....here's my video about it!  (just click)

(Blogger never lets me embed that specific video for some reason)
It came out in September 2013 and was a fun time!
Click here to go to my blog review about the product.

7. Varsity Voxbox
They did one of these last year, but I'm super excited to be on board for this one! It came out in mid October 2013, and is the program I'm currently enrolled in. I'll post my blog reviews soon!

College Dorm Haul 3!

A new video is live on my beauty channel! Watch to find out what I bought for my dorm THIS time! This part is a little different than the other two because it's less organization and more clothes and cute comforters and stuff....also a going out of business sale, who doesn't love those!?

If you missed part 1, you can watch it here. It finally got over the 1,000 views hump, bless all your hearts! It really bugs me when something is sitting at 960 views...it's like come ON, get up there already!

And if you missed part 2, you can see that right here. If you're a coffee / tea addict such as myself, I promise you will like it. Also, Bed Bath and Beyond kind of blew up in that section, so go see that huge haul.

Thank you for supporting me! Every view makes me smile. Leave me comments if you're reading this because even just a "hey that was cool" makes my day because I know that there ARE people out there who appreciate what I do.

My First Semester of College is Cursed!

Guys.

I'm pretty sure that when I hobble by people I'm sorta friendly with on campus, and they see me on crutches, they're convinced that I'm my own personal bad luck charm. Especially if they've been keeping up with the saga that is the story of my first semester of college.

I don't like blogging about such downer topics, but then I saw a Tuesday Troubles post on RamblingsofASuburbanMom.com, and realized that it's a thing and that I'm totally allowed to do it. Also, I love her, and if you haven't started reading her blog yet... DO IT. (She doesn't know I'm saying this btw...I actually highly doubt she knows I exist)
*PLUS it's Halloween week, so I'm allowed to talk about curses and have people actually believe me...right?

Anyways.

Maybe I wouldn't have this belief if I didn't already know my building is haunted. My RA lived in the same building I live in now her freshman year, so she's been telling us from the start that the building is haunted as can be. Apparently a girl hung herself in the closet of one of the rooms awhile back, either mine or the one next to me, although after recent events I'm pretty convinced it's my room. As gory as it sounds, I'm still trying to figure out how she hung herself in a closet that size....was she a midget?

The first month of college was great. My roommates and I were best friends and everyone was jealous. We had a few great friends that we always hung out with who were practically honorary roommates (this is still true to an extent, we still have a few of those, THANK GOODNESS,) and our building was full of super friendly people that we got along great with. Then shit started going down.

There was a giant roommate fiasco and one of my roommates moved out. My other roommate and I had the room to ourselves for a few weeks, and it was like a giant sleepover! Then one night I had a rapid heartbeat and a fever of 102, so I called Public Safety and they told me to take a cab to the ER. It turns out I had a kidney infection, and went all the way back home and had to stay there for a week and a half. When I got back, my new roommate moved in and we love her, so no complaints there (once again...THANK GOODNESS!) I was super behind in schoolwork. Then there was a conflict between one of my roommates and the girls on my floor, which resulted in me having to host an intervention with some of my friends, which was super awk and made some people really upset (it's okay now though).

Now, the icing on the cake: literally the day after the intervention, I was running downstairs in my socks to the bathroom, because the one on my floor AND the floor below me were both occupied by strange people who shower at 11 pm on a Tuesday (seriously, WTF), and I had to pee like you wouldn't believe. Then all of a sudden, I slipped when I was ALMOST TO THE BATHROOM, SO CLOSE I COULD TASTE IT (err...smell it?) and that's when I slipped, and my foot felt like it folded in half.
Visual representation of my foot folding in half
I was limping to all of my classes the next day and it hurt like a bitch, so one of my friends finally told me to go to Health Services and gave me a piggy back ride there (hehe, love you R). They said it was probably sprained but could be broken, since my foot was huge and swollen and had yellow bruising all over it. They recommended going to get X-rays, so I went to a walk-in clinic a couple hours later (more like the Walk-In Shitshow....ugh don't get me started!!!!) They took X-rays and had horrible customer service and told me nothing was broken. Also, neither place had crutches, so I had to hobble into CVS myself with a potentially broken foot (they took X-rays less than 24 hours after the damage was done, so it was really too swollen to be able to see a break if there was one), and had to pay $45 out of pocket for some crutches that didn't even have numbers on the notches- you know how they're normally labeled by height? Yeah, not these. And insurance doesn't cover them, so it was a pretty penny.

So for the rest of that week and all of yesterday, I was crutching around campus and destroying my armpits and hopping up the stairs in my building like an exhausted little bunny. Then my mom booked me an appt with her foot doctor back home, so I got picked up and had my appointment just a few hours ago. They took some more X-rays, except this time they wanted me to put weight on my foot while they were taking them...um, no thanks, since I can't and all? Isn't that the reason I'm HERE?! Geeeze.... anyways, the doctor noticed that I can't bend my ankle or foot or move anything in that general area at all (which I hadn't even noticed up until that point. I'm clearly an observant child....nawt) SO she scheduled me some MRIs for late tonight (to see if I tore any ligaments or tendons or other yucky stuff).

I'm supposed to stay home, off of campus, for a few days to get my test results and see if I need physical therapy or anything. Plus I have exams for the next 3 days, and all of my books and notes are on campus...not here, where I am. Plus my boyfriend's working tonight so he can't come visit and make me feel better. Plus there's a huge Halloween celebration going on tomorrow night at school that I may/may not be able to go to. Plus my roommate's birthday is Monday and I don't want to be a jerk and miss whatever we're doing to celebrate. Plus Youtube has been giving me problems with copyrights on my videos all week, for videos where there's no music and it's literally just me talking...WTF. Who knows if I'll even be back for Halloween? ARGGHH!

The ghost just wants to ruin my life. I must have pissed her off early in the semester. I really have no other explanation for all of the shit that's happened to me lately....and yet I'm still not a college dropout. Amazing, eh?

If your Tuesday Troubles are more horrible than mine, please let me know cause that would sure make me feel better. I'll probably be making a beauty video live on my channel in an hour or so, and if you commented that would also cheer me up. I'm so worried about my grades right now that it's not even funny. DAMN YOU GHOST!

Do you believe in curses?

Thanks for reading & Happy Early Halloween!

Thirsty Thursday: K-Cup of the Week

It's that day of the week again: Thursday. The day everyone does #Throwbacks on Instagram (where you should follow me @elleohelle86, by the way....), the day college kids go out and party and miss their 8 ams the next day, and the day that I, MissGlamBAM, nominate my K-cup of the week.

If you missed last week's episode, you can read it here.

This week, my pick came in a box of free samples I requested from target.com/samples (see picture below)

This isn't sponsored by Target and I'm not partnered with them or anything (they don't even know I'm tellin y'all dis), but I just thought I'd share since I signed up for these and some Clearasil wash! Someone posted the link on Twitter, I applied, answered a couple survey questions, and these were in my mailbox 2 weeks later!

The box was super cute and I show it in a haul I just edited that probs won't be up for a week or so, and it came with 4 Snapple K-cups, 2 peach and 2 lemon iced teas, and then a coupon for $2 off. And you all know how much I love coupons, so I was super excited.

I've always wanted to try these! My favorite this week, to my own surprise, is actually the Snapple Lemon Iced Tea Brew Over Ice K-cup. Normally I'm more of a peach person and love the bottled version of it, but for some reason I've been reaching for the lemon ones this week and haven't even touched the peach ones.

I like these because they're just as sweet as the bottled ones, but taste more fresh, since you just brewed it in your Keurig and all. The lemon isn't tart, and as someone who usually despises lemon-flavored things, these have a perfect iced tea taste in my opinion. It's not that artificial flavor of iced teas you buy from a vending machine, nor is it that super sugary-sweet flavor you get from sweet teas- it's a perfect in between that has a little grit and bitterness to it, but also a lot of sweet and fruity flavor. They're just great!

Brew Over Ice K-cups never really work that well for me....I put an entire ice cube tray in the cup, and then the cubes are all melted two minutes later and my drink is still half hot...wtf? I like to brew it over ice, pop it in the fridge for 10 minutes, then add more ice, and THEN it's truly cold. Just a tip (:

What's your favorite tea or coffee drink this week? Do you have a Keurig? Have you mastered the technique of Brew Over Ice K-cups yet? (cuz I sure haven't....awkz)

I recently uploaded my unboxing haul of MAC's Riri Hearts MAC Fall Collection, designed and inspired by my lady crush, Rihanna.

In the video I show some swatches, but I thought I would also post some of the swatch pictures on my blog so you can get a closer look and in slightly higher def than the video! Enjoy!

My order came in 2 separate boxes, and I was super excited for both of them. Here's an alternative thumbnail shot that I didn't end up using.

Beautiful rose gold packaging.

Movie Review: Carrie

*Warning- if you haven't seen the original, there are some mild spoiler alerts!*

Hi all!

My friends dragged me out to the movies to see the new film "Carrie" last night, and let's just say, I'm a little freaked out to be even in my own room alone...okay, maybe it's not that bad, but I'm definitely still mentally disturbed....actually, that's a good way to explain this movie, mentally disturbing.

There's an earlier, original version of this movie, which my friends had seen and that's why they wanted to see this movie in particular, despite the fact that I was spewing threats at them at a mile a minute if they made me see a scary movie....which they kind of did.

It stars the always beautiful Julianne Moore as a hyper-religious, self-blaming mother of the character Carrie, who is played by the up-and-coming Chloe Grace Moretz. I have been seeing this girl EVERYWHERE lately, from Kickass 2 commercials to the walls at Aeropostale. Since she's a newer and younger actor, I wasn't expecting much from her performance, but for such a challenging, multi-faceted, and effed-up role as this was, she really blew me away. She goes from a huddled over, self-conscious girl to the chick that blows up the entire town (I don't feel bad for giving mild spoiler alerts because I feel like a lot of people have already seen the original).

This movie is about a girl who gets teased miserably in school, and has special "powers" that have been passed down from her grandmother. She learns that her powers are telekinetic, and reads up about it so she can learn to control and use them to protect her from her abusive mother and her tormentors at school. It's the ultimate revenge story, and the ending is really....satisfying. If you're the kind of person that really likes a good ending and can't stand crappy ones, then this would be a movie for you.

The movie isn't gory for the first 2/3 of it, but after the pig is brutally murdered (one of my least favorite parts in the movie!) it just gets more and more gory from there. For someone who really really hates horror movies such as myself, it really wasn't TOO bad. There were just a few scenes that I thought were a little more graphic and violent than they needed to be, and those ones are the images that are still stuck in my mind and haunting me a little bit. If you like scary movies and don't mind blood and a teeny bit of gore, then you would have absolutely no problem with this movie- none of my friends did...awk.

Overall, I would give this movie an 8/10. It had a great plot, the performances were great from all of the lead actresses- including Gabriella Wilde (Sue- my personal favorite character), and the always super bitchy to the point where I wanted to punch her a lot during this movie, Portia Doubleday (who plays Chris, and is blonde in her imdb pictures?! WTF? Much better, since the contrast of her bright eyes and pale lips against her practically black hair in the movie bothered me every time she was on screen. )

The story really kept me on edge and had a million plot turns in my opinion- wasn't too predictable, and the way the ending went down was very violently creative. If you like scary movies, I'd say go for it! It's creepy but has character and a soul and a story, versus the usual straight-up blood and gore. You really get attached to the characters, even the ones you don't like. If you're like me and can do mildly scary but not so much the blood, I'd say give it a try because it's really thought-provoking and will stay in your head in both good and bad ways, but definitely bring someone with you whose hand you can squeeze, whose shoulder you can hide behind and cry on afterwards, and whose lap you can jump into at times.

On a side note, since the inner beauty guru in me wants to point it out, Chloe looked absolutely GORGEOUS with her strawberry blonde wavy hair in this movie, especially when it was curled, paired with light makeup, and a blush pink colored prom dress in the scene where she gets all dolled up. I've been obsessing over that look ever since!

Hope this helped you guys- will you be seeing this movie or if you've seen it already, how'd you like it? Would you agree with my rating?

Thirsty Thursday: K-Cup of the Week

If you currently are, ever have been, or are frequently around college students, you've probably heard of the phrase Thirsty Thursday. Just to be a punny jerk, I thought I would start a new series on either my channel or my blog with the same title, but talking about non-alcoholic things that you drink...and since I love caffeine in all of its forms and have been trying tons of new K-cup varieties in my Keurig lately, I thought I would do this weekly post! It could've been a weekly video, but my roommate decided to make me wait to film until it was dark out and I had laundry to do and blah blah blah, I can't right now. HENCE THE BLOG!

So this week, my favorite coffee/tea/etc. flavor to make instantly in my Keurig are the pumpkin coffee ones from Dunkin' Donuts. My mom bought them for me one night when she was driving me back to campus and we made our usual caffeine pitstop, which happened to be during the sale they had where 2 boxes of K-cups were $20, when they're normally $12-$14 each, I believe? I've been eyeing the pumpkin ones for ages, so of course they were picked up.

They come in a box of 14...or is it 16? Shit! Either way, there's plenty for me to enjoy. I think I've only used 2 or 3 so far, so I'm good. I've been pairing these with my Wicked Witch from The Wizard of Oz mug that I found at Barnes & Noble, and some International Delight French Vanilla coffee creamer - both the powdered and needs-to-be-refrigerated kind, since for some reason I have both right now.

I'm almost pumpkined out, and sometimes the spices in pumpkin coffee are too strong and give me a stomach ache, but this blend has the perfect balance and is nice and smooth, and with the vanilla creamer I just mentioned, it tastes "just like a pumpkin creme brûlée!" - direct quote of mine from this morning. Puts me in a great mood in the morning and is just so downright delicious! It smells great too- sometimes I'll just hang out at my desk with my nose in the mug, soaking up all the flavor through my nose....if that makes sense without sounding weird....which I highly doubt it does....

What coffee flavors have you been loving this week? Who has the best pumpkin coffee, in your opinion? What other weekly segments should I do on my blog (that I've just recently stopped abandoning....sorrrrry)?

Leave a comment if you have something to say!

Doing Emily's Makeup- Everyday Purple Smokey Eyes and Luminous Skin!

Hey guys, long time no blog!

Recently one of my college friends Emily asked me to do her makeup, so naturally I asked her if I could film it, and of course she said yes (along with making lots of silly faces at the camera). So in this blog post, I'll list all of the products I used on her (since I didn't show them too much in the video), and I'll explain what each product does for her skin or gorgeous emerald green eyes! The look is very wearable for everyday, for someone of any skintone or eye color. If you want to keep that glowing skin going for winter, or your eyes shimmery bright for either everyday or a special occasion, you have come to the right place!

1. Pond's Luminous Moisture Moisturizer (in the pink tube)- I first moisturized Emily's face, which is always the first step I take in putting makeup on anyone, including myself.
2. Rimmel Fix & Perfect Face Primer in 001- then I primed her face to get rid of pores. It also has a slight orange tinge, so it gives you a tad bit of coverage and color. Not crazy about it, but it sure helped to warm up Emily's face!
3. benefit Ooh La Lift- I talked about this in my August Favorites video. I used this instead of a concealer, and its highlighting capabilities erase the need for a concealer, while giving you a nice little under eye glow and luminosity. It really helps to wake up the face, and I usually wait to blend it in until I've also stippled foundation onto the face, just so it all blends together and you save a step.
4. Revlon Nearly Naked Liquid Foundation- I had to match Emily with the closest foundation shade of mine that would fit her, and this one seemed to do it. The color I have is a little too light, but the bronzer I added later helped to even it out. This foundation gives a gorgeous, flawless coverage, and helped to cover up Emily's acne spots. I think it'll be in my Sept. favorites video, so if you're reading this you just got a sneak peek!
5. Urban Decay Deslick Oil Control Makeup Setting Spray- this was just to keep Emily's foundation in place, it's a great spray that smells nice too! It'll also help to keep oil away, especially since I applied it under the pressed powder to set the face makeup.
6. Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Sandstorm- a really nice formula to keep oil away and set your foundation. I applied a dusting with a big Sephora fluffy powder brush, all the way down the neck too to help blend the foundation color!
7. NARS Orgasm Blush- a really pretty, bright pinky-gold blush color that I applied kind of heavily with a small Sephora powder brush.
8. NARS Laguna Bronzer- a gorgeous mid-tone brown bronzer color that I applied with a cheapo Essence of Beauty angled blush brush from CVS to contour Emily's face and add extra glow.
9. Maybelline Great Lash Clear Brow Gel- Emily's eyebrows are dark and full enough to the point where I didn't need to fill them in, but I thought a little gellin' into place wouldn't hurt to keep them looking nice all day and night long.
10. Urban Decay Midnight Cowgirl e/s- I used this on the inner tear ducts and on the lids with a fluffy eyeshadow brush by Sonia Kashuk (found at Target).
11. L'oreal eyeshadow palette- I honestly don't remember the name of this one, but it has some gorgeous shades in it! When I get back to campus where this little sucker is hiding I'll put the name in, but for now just watch the video to see which specific shades I used. Emily was already wearing a little eyeliner and mascara when I started, so I mostly just did eyeshadow to complete her look. I took a darker purple color with an Essence of Beauty crease brush, and applied into the crease. I blended it out with a MAC 224 brush, and applied a little of this same color on her lower lash line to round-out the look. I used a lighter color from the palette to blend out the crease color some more, and used it as a browbone highlight as well!

If you follow the video and use the products as described above, you can create a flawless skin look and some gorgeous purple smokies in just a few minutes! Thanks to Emily for being my model, and I hope you all enjoyed this blog post! I'll have to do more like this in the future (;

P.S. This look would look really great topped off with a light pink or nude lip- perhaps Snob lipstick (since it's a light pink with purple undertones to match the eye look) by MAC with Rimmel Stay Glossy 3D Lipgloss in Back Row Smooch over it? One of my personal fave combos (;

Review: Sargento Cheese Snacks (Influenster Voxbox item)

Hi everyone!

Recently I signed up for the Chowhound badge on their site, and soon after, Influenster sent me a voucher for a free Sargento cheese snack pack, and a $1 off coupon for another one. Watch my unboxing haul, that I uploaded to my second channel (where I always upload videos about my Influenster Voxboxes unless they're beauty related, in which case they'll be on my main beauty channel!). You can watch it here so you know what the heck I'm talking about for this review! (I couldn't get it to embed, wahh :/ )

It took me forever to get to a grocery store (sigh, #collegeprobs), but when I finally did, I picked up the Reduced Fat Sharp Cheddar snacks. You get 12 sticks, that are 60 calories each, in a pack that was about $4.50 at my grocery store, which is kind of pricey, but I'd been reading good reviews on the Influenster site, so I was pumped to try them nonetheless.

Now, I'm a little weird with my cheese- I only recently have really gotten to like it, and the only types I really like enough to buy sticks of it are sharp cheddar, so I was in luck that these were still there! My grocery store didn't have that great a selection- Sargento snacks also come in Thins now, which are thin sandwich slices, and all sorts of other shapes including string cheese, but I only saw these and the mozzarella ones at my Stop & Shop. Oh well, I was still happy.

Anyways, I've been trying these sticks in about a billion different types of snacks- above, I just melted some into some Tostitos Scoops for perfect little bite-size nachos. I also melted some onto some Clubhouse crackers last night after cutting the snacks into little strips, popped it in the microwave for about 30 seconds, and they were soooo good I went back and made seconds!

The cheese, because it's low fat, is a harder consistency than what you would expect- most other cheeses are soft and more gooey (says my dad, who I had taste test one of these so I would have more opinions to blog about. He really liked them...I'm a little nervous for the rest of my population of these, while he's around and they're in the fridge!) They melt as well as other cheeses though, and the packaging, although a little tricky to open at times, makes it totally portable and perfect for on-the-go protein. They're really high in calcium and protein, and are promoted as being a healthy snack.

About, if not more than, half of my bag is already gone because I've been trying them out like crazy. They're not very salty, so in some combinations they're a little hard to taste, but they definitely have a sharpness to them. I really do like them, even though I'm SUPER picky with the sharpness of my cheeses. Here's another combo I tried the other day-

I melted just one stick onto already half-toasted wheat bread, after I cut it up into cubes. After it was melted, I just spread it all over the bread like it was butter, and had it for breakfast with some sliced apples. I've been posting a lot of these snack ideas on my new Pinterest board, called Nutrition, and have been really inspired by it and a few other things lately to start snacking and eating more healthy. Check it out, and feel free to follow, repin, and like my posts, since I've been posting on there often: http://www.pinterest.com/elleohelle88/nutrition/

Overall, these have a great flavor, the packaging and sizes are a really great idea, and I like them a lot for making snacks! They're pretty good for you too, which makes them a snack that rests lightly on your conscience. I love my cheese, and I think these are really good, which is saying a lot! They're kind of pricey, but worth it overall. I really do #ChooseSargentoCheese! These are a great product and *surprisingly* I'll probably continue to buy them when I get the chance in the future! (I just wish they were sold at CVS so I have access to them on campus, and not just when I come home! Bottom line: get these for sale in more places, Sargento!)

Hope you guys enjoyed this post! Here are some other Influenster videos, in case you're interested as to what the whole thing is about! Hmm...I'll have to do a blog post all about it in the future, now that I'm getting back into the habit of using my blog! Let me know in the comments or on Twitter if you'd be interested in that, and let me know if you'd like an invite! I believe I have 3 left...?

Thank you all so much for reading! I'm really glad that you found my blog and took the time to read my review. Have you tried Sargento snacks? Do you use Influenster? Let me know!
