Kiss Ever Pro Lashes Starter Kit Review!

Before these lashes, I owned 2 pairs: one had a huge thick band of glitter on it and super-long, curly lashes at the outer corners, and the other pair was trimmed on a diagonal [okay, the 2nd pair I could fool people were natural in my Facebook picture, but never in real life]. As you can tell, I was in desperate need of some more natural-looking lashes, just for tutorials or nights out or future weddings/fancy events.
Some things I really like about these lashes in particular are:
-this doesn't really count but I was so impressed with Kiss' nail stickers that their brand is a new favorite of mine
-they were lush and full-looking, something that is hard to find in drugstore lashes (I'm looking at you, Ardell and NYX)
-the glue had a super strong hold- comparable if not better to Duo, which I own and use
-in this starter kit, you get three things, and not just the lashes, so it's good value for your money (these are around $5 at drugstores)

Despite all of that, there were only a couple things I wasn't too crazy about:
-it might just be me, or the fact that I'm already clumsy about putting lashes on, but I thought the applicator was more confusing than helpful. I'll just stick to my tweezers to get them up on my lashline, which is what I usually use. If you're subscribed to my Youtube channel, elleoenigma, you can look up my "How to Apply False Lashes" tutorial, where I show how to use tweezers!
-the glue took a whole minute to dry, whereas the same amount of Duo lash glue would probably only take half of that time. I think the hold of this glue was a little stronger than Duo though, so it's a tradeoff

That's about all I have to contribute for now! Overall a great product, and if you have the need for some lashes I would definitely recommend these. Thanks for reading!

P.S. I was sent these for free from Influenster in one of my boxes, but that doesn't affect my opinion! I test out all products unbiased-ly.

NYC Custom Eyes Individual Eye Compact!

This is just a quick little rundown of the pros and cons of this cute product I was sent for free from Influenster, since my experience with it so far has been limited but there are some things I really do like about it, and for $5 at any drugstore and with a color selection much wider than just the palette I checked out (mine was dark silvers and greys, my fave!), why not scope it out if you want to spice up your makeup collection?

Pros:
-plastic packaging feels sturdy, not cheap
-is cute and compact!
-color selection is perfect for me but also any eye color
-shimmer is gorgeous
-white highlight color is very functional and well-pigmented
-darkest shade showed up SO welll- use a light hand!

Cons:
-primer seemed goopy and thick to me
-the shadows are so pigmented they can get all over the place if you don't tap off your brush!
-middle two shades looked very similar on, but it wasn't too big of a deal

As always, thank you for reading and get in touch with me for any additional info or questions!

My "Genie in a Bottle" - Goody Spin Pin Review!

Not my picture, cause mine aren't in 'Blonde'!

So I've always adored the cute little commercials for these Spin Pins and always wanted a pair myself, but I didn't quite get the concept & thought they would be really hard to use, plus whenever I looked for them at CVS they were $10, which was a price I wasn't up to spending for something I wasn't sure would work.

Then Influenster came along and sent me a free set in my Beauty Blogger Voxbox, and I was SO excited! [as you could probably tell from my video] Now, I've only used these once, and I plan on making a tutorial-style video in the future with a more in-depth review of these, but I wanted everyone to know that they're one of my favorites from this box! You literally put one against the bottom of your bun and twist it clockwise (spin counterclockwise to take them out!) and they just go in your hair and hold it in place. I have thin hair so I could probably get away with only using one, since these are powerful little spirals. Then you take the other pin, place it against the top of your bun, and twirl it down towards your scalp, and if you really want it to stay you can make sure the pin grabs some of the hair closer to your head.

My FAVORITE thing about these things is not only how versatile they are [you could do a messy bun, side bun, low bun, or I did a high ballerina bun], but you don't need a hair tie/elastic, AT ALL! So as long as you have two of these puppies in your backpack, but are all out of luck ponytail-holder-wise, you could just whip them out and do a two-second hairstyle just in time for gym, or a test, or whatever else you have going on where you don't want all that hair in your face. Know what that means? No bun bumps on the top of your head! That's my least favorite part about updos, but these don't leave any bumps or lines or weird markings on your hair, so you can just untwist the pins and move on to whatever hairstyle you want for the next day without having to straighten it or anything in between. How easy!

That's all for now, folks. Keep a lookout for my video that will be sorta like an extension on this blogpost!

Bath + Body Works Mini Candle Reviews!

It's FAAAAALL, which means beautiful fall scents are filling my bedroom! With Influenster sending me a free mini B & BW mini candle of Black Pepper Bergamot, and the website giving away mini candles for free w/ a $25 purchase (I was stocking up on hand sanitizers and gifts for friends!), I have lots to talk about!

Not my picture. Thanks Google!

BPB- This is the one I got from Influenster, and let me say- if my future husband wore this scent as a cologne, I would never be unhappy! It smells like a manly, musky scent- my favorite kind (remember how I buy all the B & BW men's scents as hand sanitizers? and how Yankee Candle's Mountain Lodge, another manly musky scent, is my YC favorite?). The color really throws you off but once you ignore it and the strange title that left me a little confused as to what to expect, then you will be thrown into a magical scent-tastic wonderland. I really will love this for fall AND winter- that deep comforting scent doesn't only scream fall to me. The mini size is adorable, and even though the plastic lid makes me a little nervous, the glass container has been holding up well for me.
Not my picture.

Leaves- Okay, okay, I crossed over to the dark side and bought the ever so popular and over-discussed Leaves scent. This is the one I got for free off the website (let me just say that B & BW takes FOREVER in the mail! Granted there was a hurricane going on at the time, but I ordered from Urban Decay.com on the same day and that box came about a week earlier), but I think you can buy them a la carte for about $3, or 2/$5. Well worth it, in my opinion. I burnt this for about half an hour before I went to bed one night, and I was in such a happy place with this smell in my nose. 30 minutes and there was barely a dent in the wax, which shows how long this candle will truly be able to burn for! Even if you just leave the plastic lid off and put it on a dresser somewhere, the scent will fill the room. I've had mine open for at least two weeks now and my whole room still smells like it!
Don't be misled by the title- I was expecting an earthy scent that would actually smell like, you know, leaves!? Psssst, that would be a great idea for a future scent, B & BW. Anyways, it's actually a sweet smell- kind of a mix of pumpkins and cloves and cinnamon and other seasonal spices, so a more appropriate name in my opinion would be "Autumnal Spice." It's really sweet and will make you feel like a little kid in a log cabin drinking clove spice tea- talk about the ultimate comfort!

Thanks for reading my review. Be sure to get in touch with me with any questions or comment below to join the conversation!

Kinky Moves that Aren't Your Mother's?! (A Review)

From Not Your Mother's brand, I will be reviewing Kinky Moves, a hair cream for curly/wavy girls!
Not my picture.

If you watched my Beauty Blogger Voxbox Unboxing (a free box of goodies I got from Influenster) video, which you can watch HERE if you have no idea what I'm talking about, then you saw this little travel-sized cutie.  I'm planning on doing a favorites video of my favorites & least favorites from this box shortly, but in the meantime I wanted to shine the spotlight on one of my favorites from this program that has become a necessity!

Normally after I get out of the shower, I use a leave-in conditioner, comb out the rat's nest that my hair turns into when wet, pop on my Paul Mitchell Super Skinny serum, and I'm done. Instead of the pricey PM serum, you could easily use this new product to get a similar effect, and both smell delicious in more ways than one!

To avoid boring you to death, I'll just list the pros and cons [not many!] of this product~

Pros:
-smells DELICIOUS; I am ALL OVER the Jasmine & grapeseed oil that makes your hair smell like a grape vineyard in the middle of summer. The only perfume I'll ever need!

-the consistency is nice and thin and doesn't make your hair sticky like a mousse, but gives you similar effects
-makes your hair so stinking shiny, people might start using your head as a mirror

-did I mention it smells really really good? Even the day after your shower?

-you don't need a whole lot to put on your palms and eliminate frizz

-when you scrunch your wet hair with this a lot like you're supposed to, you will definitely get a different look than what you're used to; my hair got wavy on the ends, but CON: didn't look much different higher up on my head

-it does a great job of defining layers, if you have them. I know that my hair looks more piecy, but in a good way, and makes the texture of your locks look more interesting and gorgeous

-it might just be my imagination, but my hair color seems to be enhanced when I use this (it gets brighter and my brown dye tends to look less faded and more bright when I have this on!)

Yes my picture. Did the chipped nail polish give it away!?

Who DOESN'T want a floral-scented head of hair that gives shine enough for days and eliminates frizz and undefined waves? Yes, this will work if you have tight little ringlets or if you just have borderline straight-and-wavy hair (like me!) It smooths down your hair and gives you definition that looks pretty on everyone. Plus, it makes you look like you spent way more time on your hair then you actually did- can you say effortless?

If you have any questions or want to know any more about this product, Google it or get in touch with me! Thanks for reading,

Sally Hansen Magnetic Nail Color REVIEW!

Hey guys,

So I know my multiple pictures of this awesome manicure on Instagram are starting to get a little obnoxious, but ever since I received it for free through the Influenster Summer Beauty Voxbox program, I've really loved it.

Because of where I now work, I can only where nail polish when I have long breaks of time between when I am working. So when I went on a week-long vacation last week, I packed this amazing stuff and applied it immediately after I got off the plane since I was so excited!

I got the silver color, and the combination of sparkle and 3D magnetic wave effect made for a really pretty and hypnotizing final product! If you haven't seen my pictures yet, please check them out on my Instagram-  my username is elleohelle86, and follow me while you're at it to see every cool manicure I put on! (I always put pictures of my nails up!)

Anyways, it's a really simple process and in my opinion, takes less time to dry than a regular manicure because the polish dries SO quickly, and you only need two coats of the polish [plus top and base coat]. These are the official directions:

Easy steps
STEP 1
Shake and Apply 2 coats
STEP 2
Hold Magnet for 10 seconds over wet nail polish
Instant Attraction!
Let dry and seal with a top coat for extra shine

(taken from the Influenster website)

EASY, right!? No matter how much you think you aren't talented at painting your nails, I promise that even you can do this, and get a realllllly cool effect! People were giving me compliments and asking about my nails all week long, it was a really fun experience and I hope to get more colors in the future!

Thanks for reading! Contact me if you have any questions or if you've tried this yourself!

Kiss Nail Dress Review Follow-Up (Post Removal Update)

So my Kiss Nail Dress leopard stickers have officially been on for 3 weeks and 2 days- over twice as long as you're supposed to keep them on. And I figured I was getting more value for my money, since my nails looked great still and weren't getting damaged enough to take off without feeling guilty.

BUT NOW I KNOW THERE'S A REASON WHY YOU TAKE THEM OFF AFTER TEN DAYS.

The adhesive from the stickers gets stuck to your nails and stays on, even after you peel them off. And if peeling didn't already take off a layer of nail, then picking off the adhesive will. My nails look so damaged and will need to stay away from polish for at least a few days to heal and get that layer back again.

On the other hand, look how ridiculously and borderline-gross-ly long my nails are! The strips definitely protected most of them from the usual ripping they get after a certain length, causing me to cut them all down. I don't think they've been this long in awhile, and I hadn't even realized they were getting so long! So if you have fragile nails that won't grow, give these things a try and leave them on for a few weeks for long nails when you take them off!

Just wanted to give an update since I just uploaded my video review today. Hope you'll check it out on my YouTube channel (elleoenigma) and that you enjoyed this post!

Kiss Nail Dress

Kiss Nail Dress

Love these so much! Got them for free in my Love Voxbox and will be filming a review on them very soon once I can report on how long they last! I'm on day 4 right now & they're nearly flawless <3

My Top 5 Favorite Everyday Lipsticks (Swatches)

Hello Dollface! I just made a video about my 5 most worn everyday lipsticks, which included a mix of drugstore and high end. I hope you enjoy the video and some bonus swatches and pictures of what they look like on, in case you were thinking of getting any yourself!

Here's my handful of swatches- what a wide variety of colors that you can get away with on a daily basis!
(Rimmel's Summer Angel, MAC's Viva Glam Gaga 1, Avon's Never So Nude, Clinique's Super Strawberry, and Rimmel's Vintage Pink)

Here's what the first swatch looks like on:

(Rimmel Moisture Renew- Summer Angel)

I really like this next shade because it brightens up your whole face:

(MAC's Viva Glam Gaga 1- Special Edition!)

Probably the most glossy out of all the colors:

(Avon Ultra Color Rich Lipstick- Never So Nude)

Now we're getting into the more intensely pigmented and daring everyday colors.

(Clinique Chubby Stick- Super Strawberry)

And last but not least, here is my favorite of them all!

(Rimmel Moisture Renew- Vintage Pink)

ALL PICTURES TAKEN ON FRONT-FACING CAMERA OF IPHONE 4S, FACING NATURAL LIGHTING. Not the most clear, but the colors are definitely true. Here I'll add some more close ups of the colors:

And there they all are. What are your favorite everyday lipsticks? Thank you for reading! I feel like I forgot to mention something, but oh well. Have a great day(:

Smokey PLL-Inspired MOTD!

The picture for this may not be the best. I’ve been wanting to go to sleep for 2 hours now but had to write a paper! AGHH!

Anyways, this look started out as an innocent daytime school makeup look, but tonight I had a chorus concert, and even though I wanted to keep it all modest looking since we were performing in a church, I did get a little smokey with it to enhance my brown eyes- something I don’t do very often because browns with browns can get a little muddy- but I actually really liked how it came out. Reminded me very much so of a character from Pretty Little Liars, since at least 3 out of 4 of them have hazel/brown eyes as I do. So this is just a quick MOTD post, I hope you all enjoy! By looking at my blog stats I saw that WAY more people than usual saw my St. Patrick’s day MOTD post and that means so much to me that people take the time to read these and support me and my makeup art. So thank you for reading in advance and hope you enjoy this smokey brown look!

FACE: Today I used
Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel
American Beauty Plush Powder Foundation in 04 Cool
But I really do think it’s time to switch to a more liquid or spring face makeup because the powder just faded so fast and gave into my oily spots today, leaving me with red discoloration on my forehead after it faded. Talk about embarrassing! To cover it up I used
Covergirl Oil Control Pressed Powder in Buff Beige
With my trusty:
Physician’s Formula Bambuki Brush
Which helped with the oil a lot. Between the foundation and powder, I also used a blotting sheet from Clean & Clear to get rid of the oil without having to start from scratch with the face routine.
I really wanted to contour my cheeks but was too lazy to go looking for my Laguna, so I used an eyeshadow with the perfect color for contour but with very light pigmentation so it wouldn’t be too noticeable/shimmery on my face vs. my eyelids. I used:
Max Factor e/s in Bourbon

EYES:
I started with
e.l.f. Eyelid Primer in Sheer (really hate this stuff, I’m pretty sure the colors faded)
MAC e/s in Naked Lunch (lid, browbone, inner corner)
MAC e/s in Corderoy (crease. This is a matte color but when I blend it some shimmer gets mixed in. So annoying!)
Blended w/ MAC 224 Brush
Lancome e/s in Drape (browbone, over Naked Lunch for more shimmer)
Maybelline Expert Eyes Eyeliner in (?) Brown – can’t remember the name. Very basic light brown! (upper lash line)
Avon Luxury Liner for Eyes in Dark Brown (waterline)
Lancome e/s in Color d’Jour (in waterline to set eyeliner)
Revlon Growluscious Mascara in Blackest Black
Lancome Definicils Mascara

LIPS:
The Balm Stainiac Lip Stain in Beauty Queen

That’s all for now folks! Enjoy the pictures, let me know if you want a tutorial on this look or a similar look, and Stay Gold!

My Nail Polish Obsession TAG!

Life Lately, Being Sick, & More Subscribers!

Hey beauty people,

It's been awhile since I've done a post on my blog- whether it be a nail polish review or update post or about a new contest I'm doing. I could've sworn I did a review on an Avon nail polish the other week, but I can't find it here or in my drafts folder, which is really bumming me out :/ Not only that, but I've had mono for the past 4-5 weeks! Isn't that rediculous? What's even worse is that this is the second time I've had mono IN ONE YEAR. I had it last May into June, which wasn't a fun experience either, but it was easier to catch up because I went to an arts school, and now I'm at a more academic-based school, which won't be as easy to keep up with after being out for so long.

So basically, I'm a little out of touch. How is everyone? What kinds of videos would you like to see? I miss posting blogs, and even though I've been trying to keep up with videos and on Twitter, it's been difficult to keep going like nothing's wrong when I've been so tired that one day I was only awake for 6 out of 24 hours in a day! Yikes. I've been writing a little about being sick in the downbars of some videos, but other than that and the occasional #sicktweet, I wasn't sure if many of you knew.

If I can find any, I'll try to put in pictures of what I've been doing lately. Not that there's been many places I've gone because of being sick, but I always love when people post blogs about their lives & what they've been up to(:

I put this picture on Instagram yesterday. I was going into the city for a lactose intolerance test [there goes 4 hours of my life] and luckily it was negative, but going into the city for a day was a breath of fresh air & better than being in school all day by far! I always get so fascinated by the buildings & start going picture-crazy.

Here's another picture that was on my Twitter last weekend! On Sunday (it's now Thursday) I went to my neighbor's house & we all made chocolate pops, for Valentine's day (we had roses and hearts, how cute!) and for concessions for the show my friend is in starting tomorrow! I was going to be doing the makeup for this show, but dropped out this morning because I'm still so tired I don't think I could be on my feet for four days straight. I still can't wait to see her dance number or for people to be buying these kitties, dogs, and bears on a stick in the lobby! We should seriously open a candy-making factory, we made so many in just three hours.

Sometime last week I also hit 1,150 subscribers! It's gone a little up and down since then (silly numbers fluctuating on me!) but I want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who supports me. You're my motivation and I'm so glad I can share my passion with so many lovely people! You continue to inspire and encourage me, and with such a long-term sickness as the one I have, the support truly means everything<3

That's about it for now! I love you all, thanks for reading, and I'll be uploading a new video very shortly! It was filmed on my camera phone which is supposed to be pretty spiffy since I have the new iPhone, so hopefully everyone that's been complaining about fuzziness will be pleased. If not- let haters be your motivators! Haha(;

Until later, xox Elle<3

Review: China Glaze "Champagne Bubbles"

I just watched a CG haul from sweet little Meghanrosette and just had to review the classy polish from them I've been wearing for about two weeks!

At first I wore it by itself, which was gorgeous and looked great when I wore purpley/berry/maroon-toned clothing! After that, I've been experimenting with nail art on top of it, which I'll add picture of, and by now it's completely chipped & gross-looking. It had a great run.

I picked it up on sale from Sally's for a mere $1.99, which saved around $4 or $5 from the usual price! I've been obsessed with metallics and glitter ever since the holidays, so this was a perfect find!

Since I've been wearing it well over a week and a half (with a few touch ups in there for major chips,) I can say the wear on this stuff is amazing! I think the chunky but sparse texture helps keep it on, since glitter is so hard to take off my nails.

The color is gorgeous and very warm and rich, which surprisingly looks phenomenal on my cool-toned skin. On chubby fingers like mine, I think it even slims them a little since it's so sparkly!

Overall, worth the price, especially on sale, and the color makes me swoon! Just as pretty on as in the bottle, which I regrettably don't have a picture of to share.

Go out and grab this golden beauty today!
