Thursday Thoughts!

Whoa whoa whoa, when was the last time I did a Thursday Thoughts? Pretttty sure it was November, since I was just reading that post a minute ago trying to remember what I called my Thursday column...LOL!

I've been itching to blog all day, but with a million chores and errands to do, along with having the puppy trainer come over, I've been one busy stay at home dog mom. Seriously. This entire week I've been getting up 4 times a night with this little angel....

^ that's Sunny, and we brought her home exactly 2 weeks ago today! Getting a puppy has been a dream of mine for as long as I could remember, and this summer all of the pieces finally fell into place for my family and we brought this little booger home to live with us! I post pictures of her pretty frequently on my Instagram, so if you can't get enough, ya best be followin' me, ya hear? @elleohelle86 is my username, come join the party!

Baby dog vs. mountain lion
My first story of the day will be a description of a moment I REALLY wish I'd had a camera for....I brought Sunny over to our neighbor's house this morning to meet their puppy (her first puppy playdate/friend!) who's a 5 month old, some sort of Shiloh Shepherd....basically she looks like a German Shepherd but is huuuuge for a puppy! She's referred to as a "lion," for goodness' sakes! And they say she'll DOUBLE in size when she's full grown! When she was Sunny's current age, she weighed 25 pounds...Sunny is around 6 ha ha ha. Watching them play and chase each other was just hilarious because of the size difference, and Sunny's cutie pie attempts to paw at this massive dog were too adorable to handle.

Get ready for lots of unboxing hauls!
The mail lady came today, and she had so many packages for me that she actually had to hand-deliver them to me where I was hanging out on the porch! I got a subscription box sent to me to review, and a bunch of packages of things I've bought off of Depop! I've been getting some great deals on MAC products I've been looking for (which I will do swatch / review posts on shortly!), and will still have plenty of packages to come in the future :) P.S. I've decided to start shipping internationally on my Depop shop and just uploaded a ton of makeup items last night, so if you download the app, be sure to follow me: @MissGlamBam

My embarrassing gothic encounter...
So while I was opening up my packages and trying on some lipsticks later in the day for swatch blogposts, yet another mailman came up to the porch to deliver YET another box (this one wasn't for me though... aw :/ ), I happened to be wearing the Lorde Pure Heroine lipstick that I was trying on, but didn't have any other makeup on because, let's face it, it's summer and my day off, and ain't nobody got time fo dat. So he walks up to me and I'm just wearing this dark lipstick that probably looks black from a distance, and he probably thought I was writing emo poetry while out on the porch instead of taking close ups of lipstick boxes....totally casual / embarrassing... whoops. Awk.

OOPS I DID IT AGAIN
That's right, I placed my second order from erincondren.com in the past month or so. Her new On the Go Notebooks came out and I just couldn't resist (and somehow talked my dad into getting one for me as a gift? What? I'm magical sometimes), and I've been spending days designing my perfect collage for the covers! They're stupidly expensive but ridiculously blinged out and meticulously thought out notebooks, and being the freakishly organized person that I am, I just had to put my order in for one while I was in back to school shopping mode. They're so new that I couldn't find any online reviews for them (unlike when you look up the Life Planner and a million and one videos come up...most of which I watched while trying to decide whether I needed a planner or not...hehe #guilty). They look really similar to the planners feature-wise, and I'm super excited to use it for one of my major classes I'm taking this fall! Can it just be school time yet, or...? I still have to post my unboxing post for the Life Planner, but if you're interested in one OR the notebooks, click on this sentence to get $10 off your first Erin Condren purchase! (She's a goddess omg)

I guess I'm technically cheating because it's almost 1am on Friday, but in my head it's still Thursday. Off to finish this episode of Friends (my latest obsession) and continue editing my July Favorites video, if my laptop wants to cooperate!

As always, thanks for reading! Lots of posts coming soon xx

Thursday Thoughts!

I've had such good vibes goin' for the past few hours...this may just be the best Thursday Thoughts ever cause I have some great news!

~I just got out of a class that I thought was going to be super long and boring 25 minutes early, so I'm back with plenty of extra time to blog about the good news I'm brimming at the rim with!

~It's freaking gorgeous and sunny and beautiful outside, and is climbing slowly back up to the 50s for the weekend. HALLELUJAH! I kept doing all of these crutch-themed photos...I could like start an Instagram or Tumblr and call myself Crutch Girl and just have all of these mysterious photos with my crutches peeking out of them. Lol anyways...

~MOST IMPORTANTLY OF ALL, I GOT THE OKAY TO WALK AROUND IN PLACES OTHER THAN THE PT OFFICE WITHOUT MY AIRCAST/BOOT/BIONIC FOOT ON! I mean I could've taken it off whenever I wanted since it's just velcro, but I was told to bring my matching shoe to my appt today, and I left wearing it too! It hurt a little to bend my foot that way to put it in the shoe, but after that it hasn't bothered me. Their reasoning is that "I'll have more support in my sneaker than in my boot," which makes no sense to me because the boot was MADE for support, and has like a million layers of foam and air cushions in it. But either way, it was a super good day in that department.

My PT person put it on my backpack because I had no other way to carry it... do you like my new keychain?! I'm actually not too embarrassed of how dorky this looks, I'm more proud of being able to walk without it, and I kinda feel like SuperWoman about the whole thing. It's casual.

~One of my physical therapists is a reincarnated version of George Lopez, I swear. He looks so much like him, has his voice, AND HIS LAUGH! That's the scariest of all, the laugh. His sense of humor is slightly different though, thank goodness. Today one of the exercises they had me do was to start with my feet shoulder-width apart, then kick with my good foot (while standing on my bum foot, EEK!) and kick "George" in the back of the leg. They kept telling me to aim for his butt, but 1) that was a little...weird...for my taste and 2) I physically don't bend that way yet.

~Class registration went well, I only got locked out of one class, which is pretty good! I mean, this is supposed to only be the second day for freshmen to register, but a lot of freshman classes were practically full already, so there must be a loophole! Anyways, I had picked out a second choice for that class anyways, so on Mondays I'll have a whopping 4 classes (starting at 9am, ugh), but on Tuesdays I'll only have one, and it starts at 11 (so I can sleep in to get rid of the torturous memories of my jam-packed Mondays). Good thing my Monday blogpost is at night, cause I'm gonna be busy! The only thing that bummed me out about this lock out was that Miranda and I were gonna be in the same class together, along with possibly my other friend Emily. Boo :(

HEADLINE: Crutch Girl sighted with two matching, real shoes on, for the first time in almost a month.

~My registration time was during my PT appt., so I had to stop my gait-stepping to go log on and pick my classes. I did it in exactly 3 minutes, because I was so well-prepared and had all the course numbers, etc., written down (; George Lopez wanted to put me in the torture tub of Arctic death and destruction while I was registering, but I was like uhhh no way, my laptop is smooth as a stone and would probably have slid off my lap and into the whirlpool in .025 seconds had I attempted that. Clearly my coordination is crap....that's how I ended up in PT in the first place, right?

~I'm debating about whether to miss the first hour of a capella practice tonight to go to my third merit point event this week (I'm gonna have amazing housing next year, fingers crossed!)....there's this cool women empowerment thing going on, so of course Miranda and Emily want to go (I'm the one that told them it was going on, so you're welcome ladies). I haven't missed practice in awhile, so I feel like that could be excusable...possibly? What to do, what to do...

~I guess that's all for today. I'm just super excited about wearing matching shoes!!! And also about the fact that I can walk around with only one crutch now- I keep doing that to go to the bathroom, and it's so nice to be able to go to the bathroom without a wheelchair taking up the entire room! I'm shaky and look like an old person when I do it, but progress is progress, and walking was all the wanted all along.(:

Keep on the lookout for my Thirsty Thursday post later today- I'm reviewing a tea this week! How unusual, I know.

Thanks for reading! What are your Thoughts this Thursday?

Thursday Thoughts

I'm doing this post as a link-up with Ramblings of a Suburban Mom- if you click on her button above, it's supposed to take you to her page, but this is the first time I'm trying this, so let me know how it works for you!

~So today I had to put my sprained foot in an ice cold whirlpool for 15 minutes in physical therapy. It was so freaking cold, and I just dunked my whole leg in there because I thought it would be a hot whirlpool like the last time they put me in one- but I WAS WRONG! It was literally such a shock that I felt nauseous and thought I was going to have a panic attack because it hurt so badly- is that normal? Does anyone else get like that in ice water? And one of the guys working there thought it was "too warm in there," so he put two whole shovel-scoops of ice in the water RIGHT where my foot was. A great old middle finger to you, sir. That HURT and didn't help my panic-y-ness. Worst feeling ever. Ugh.

~They also had me actually walk with my bare foot in PT today- usually I just walk with my AirCast boot on. I started out with one crutch, and eventually they gave me a break and let me use two. I was wobbling so much, I felt like Walt Jr. from Breaking Bad. But I was happy I could do it at all- I just want to walk again!!!!

~Speaking of Breaking Bad, I have been craving to watch that show lately- is it even possible to crave tv shows?

~American Horror Story last night was so freaking disgusting and emotionally scarring that I'm still grossed out by it. I wasn't even tweeting spoilers last night, but my boyfriend sent me a disgruntled tweet this morning because he thought they were. Silly Z.

~I'm starting my Throwback Thursday video series on my beauty channel today! Yay! I just did a post explaining it, which you can read right here.

~Thursdays are just going to be busy days around here if I keep up with this Thursday Thoughts link up, my Throwback Thursday videos (I want to do them on my vlog channel eventually too!), and I just remembered I still have to do my Thirsty Thursday post! I almost spoiled it and told you guys what coffee I'm drinking now, which is my current fave combo, but I'll just save that for later (; Now off to take pictures for that post! Whew!

~A couple of hours ago I cleared out my pants drawer, taking out all of my summer clothes :( plus I put a little Yankee Candle tart in there in the Sun & Sand scent recently, which smells like straight up sunscreen and beach, so all of the shorts that I took out (a total of 6 pairs, and I'm sure there are still some in my closet I must hunt down) smelled extra-summery. It was kind of a sad moment because I felt like I was saying goodbye to the beach and summer, and just wah :( But it was also happy because I have extra room in my drawers- I can actually put pants in my pants drawer, instead of my t-shirt drawer! Those will go home with a few other things I have found I don't need in my dorm room this weekend, and I'll have more space. HOORAY!
